The Monaco is one of the most legendary timepieces of the past century. It partly owes its reputation to its role as Steve McQueen’s preferred timepiece. However, its style-defining aesthetics and innovative inner workings certainly contributed, too. The internal mechanism celebrated its launch in 1969 as one of the first automatic chronograph calibers. Equipped with a microrotor, it was also the first-ever movement to tick within a water-resistant case of a square shape. The Monaco Calibre 11 of today faithfully reflects the multifaceted personality of the original. The case, measuring 39 by 39 millimeters, has a deep-blue dial on which the totalizers follow the quadrangular shape of the case.
